Silver is the in-game currency acquired with real-world money that can be exchanged for cosmetic items at Eververse Trading Co. located in the Tower. Silver acts differently than other in-game currency, as it cannot be earned from completing Activities or Quests in Destiny. To add Silver to your account, you will need to purchase Silver bundles from the PSN/Xbox Store.

Silver and items purchased with Silver are available to all characters across your account.
