Error Code: CAT

A new update to Destiny is available. If you are seeing this error the first time you launch Destiny, it's totally normal.

Please exit the game and apply the update before relaunching.

How to update Destiny on your PS4

Note: The update may begin downloading/installing automatically when you turn your Playstation on.

1. Launch Destiny

a. If you receive the CAT error, please follow the steps below

2. Press the PS button located on your controller to return to the Playstation XMB

3. Press up on the D-pad and navigate to the Notifications menu

a. Click on Downloads

a. Press X on the "Destiny Update File" icon

b. Press X to Update Now
c. The update will begin automatically

4. Destiny will be ready to play once the update finishes installing

How to update Destiny on your PS3

1. Launch the game

2. You will be prompted to install an update. Press X to continue

a. The update will first download, then install to your console

3. After the install finishes, a download confirmation window will appear. Press Download to begin downloading and installing the latest Destiny Update

4. Destiny will be ready to play after the update downloads and installs to your console

How to update Destiny on your Xbox One

1. Launch Destiny

2. You will receive a prompt to install the latest update automatically

3. Destiny will be ready to play after the update finishes installing to your console
