The Taken King VIP Rewards and Veteran's Tour Quest FAQ
What are the Taken King VIP Rewards?

How do I know if I qualify for The Taken King VIP Rewards?
To be eligible to receive the VIP rewards, players will need to have at least one light level 30 character or own both Expansion I (Destiny: The Dark Below) and Expansion II (Destiny: House of Wolves) on or before 08/31/2015 and purchase and play Destiny: The Taken King on or before 02/01/2016. The VIP rewards are only available for players who have purchased Destiny: The Taken King, Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition, or Destiny: The Taken King - Collector's Edition (Digital or Physical).
How can I access the VIP Rewards?
Once per account, players will receive the "Veteran's Tour" quest from Commander Zavala in the Hall of Guardians in the Tower. By following this quest line to completion, the player will receive all of the VIP Rewards. The "Veteran's Tour" quest line can only be accessed once you have purchased Destiny: The Taken King.
I have not yet purchased Destiny: The Taken King, so why can I access some of the VIP Rewards through my Collections?
To ensure that all players that qualified for the VIP Rewards received all of the items when Destiny: The Taken King launched, Bungie pushed the Emblem, Shader, and Sparrow reward items directly to some players' Collections Inventory. A few of the players that received these rewards in their Collections have not yet purchased Destiny: The Taken King. Bungie will not be removing these items from players' inventories and they are able to access and use these items in their Collections. However, to access the full suite of VIP Rewards, players must complete the "Veteran's Tour" Quest, which is only accessible with purchase of Destiny: The Taken King. If you do not own Destiny: The Taken King, you will not be able to see or receive the "Veteran's Tour" Quest from Commander Zavala.
I was working through the "Veteran's Tour" Quest, but it became stuck at the "Talk to Eva Lavante" step.
Players who collect their VIP Rewards from their Collections before completing the "Veteran's Tour" Quest will find that they cannot progress the quest beyond the steps that reward the Shader, Emblem, or Sparrow. This is because players cannot have more than one copy of the Shader, Emblem, or Sparrow in their inventory at a time and as such are prevented from accepting the quest reward and moving on to the next step. To complete the quest, players will want to delete/discard the following items from their inventory in order to accept the rewards:

my other characters?

The Ghost Shell and other rewards from the "Veteran's Tour" quest are only available through the quest and once used or discarded cannot be accessed again.
