It's not a cheese if you have completed on hard the 1st week using the normal strategy because that was tough. You can hold your head up high and say you beat the hard raid most likely as the developers imagined. If your first completion was using this no knight strategy, then I am sorry you smell cheesy to me.

This reminds me of the first time I played the original grand theft auto. There was a mission where you talk to a hot dog vendor in an ally, as soon as you approach him he runs off and gets into a car. You follow and steal a car then chase him down across the city usually failing cause the driving was crap. After failing 20 times and wasting an hour I decided to steal 20 cars and park them all around the car he always gets in and drives away. So I approach him, he runs off, gets in his car then spends 30 seconds backing up and going forward trying to get away but he can't because I made a ginormous traffic jam for him. I slowly walk up to him, blast him in the head and mission complete. Moral of the story is its a video game and finding different ways to accomplish them within the parameters of the mechanics of the game is the point of playing video games. So lighten up and have fun.

Have two on top of deathsinger platform with ToM's and blessings of light to melt the ogres. Otherwise, run normal. Easier than the "leave ogres alive" strategy; for us anyways. Knights should be fairly easy for those on platforms since those guardians don't have to do much to the ogres.

I consider it a "cheese". Just my opinion, don't start frothing at the mouth. Not saying there is anything wrong with dong it. Seems like a very good stratagy to me, but if people are trying to tell me that Bungie intended for those knights not to spawn in, I'd say they are talking shit. :) Really don't understand why people are getting so defensive over this. It's almost like people are concerned that their achievement is being devalued in some way. So what if he cheesed? Why do you care? So what if you cheesed? Your achievemnt still counts, don't be so defensive. You got it done, so just be happy and stop -blam!-ing bitching.

I've beaten the raid both ways... IMO, the "cheese" as people are dying 2 call it is more difficult than just taking down the Knights with 2 head shots, I prefer sniping the Knights as they spawn. That said, I do think people are using the term "cheese" a little too loosely as Destiny developers commented on the group that first posted this strategy on Hard on YouTube & applauded them for it, saying it was "nicely done." Maybe it's just me, but I sincerely doubt they'd do that for a "cheese."

A cheese is despawning the enemies at the bridge. Whiping and shooting oracles from up top. Etc. This just an easier strat to take a variable out
