Just for the record, I do like the game, this post is not meant to complain.
I just don't agree with everything they have done post-ttk
its a concern we should discuss and made aware of, so we can get a even better game in the end
The more and more i play TTK, the more i get tired of the game.
every damn drop is 26x or 27x, why bother decoding, there is nothing that i can use.
drop rates/rewards are terrible.
only endgame is the raid. (the only place to get higher rated items for infusion)
exotics locked away with too hard quests. (crucible quest, insane Black Spindle)
unlimited grinding. light level on weapons, forcing me to use my highest rated weapons.
looks like the loot system is broken to me. no way Bungie would make it so time consuming/grind to only get low level or the same gear over and over till you had enough and are just pissed off, no game should make you feel like you are loosing
but heres the thing, I'm not actually bored of the game it self. but i get fed up at the loot/drop that i feel no reward/winning or progression.
that makes we want to give up.
and there is content that i will never get because its locked behind a unreachable mode i cant do,(not talking about Raids) and that again makes me feel like im loosing, and i hate not going to do Destiny 100%
this post has also a lot of relevant discussions:

I would like to keep playing Destiny, but my enjoyment is wearing thin :(
I actually liked Destiny more pre-ttk
Lets take a break and enjoy the festival!
thanks to everyone joining the discussion.

The vast majority of people that take time to post on here play this game way too -blam!-ing much. The OP is the normal end result. ''It just ain't that good''. This leads to these kinds of feelings. Anyone EVER that does something too much, too often will get tired of whatever it is they're abusing. I find it frankly comical that some people can end up in this kind of place, where 100+ hours devoted to a VIDEOGAME EXPANSION can feel empty, as if the way there wasn't THAT enjoyable and as if the way it was before was somehow better, progression-wise (when it objectively isn't). If that's where you're at, OP and others, take a few steps back. Stop playing for a few days. Legendary marks don't matter in the grand scheme of things. You're at that normal junction that all MMO's lead to. Moderation is key. -

I'm starting to agree. Pre-TTK I used to play Destiny every day, and I enjoyed it because I had the nightfall to do each week on 3 characters, the weekly to do on 3 characters, crota raid to do on 3 characters, vault of glass to do on 3 characters, and prison of elders on the various difficulties though I rarely actually fully did everything Destiny had to offer each week completed every week. And that's not even counting the some days if I felt like doing the daily mission, or if I just randomly felt like playing crucible, which although was rare, it did add 1 more thing I sometimes enjoyed doing. But that's exactly the point. There was tons to do. And I could do it as I pleased throughout the week. And although the same could be said about TTK, there were two days so far where I basically dropped everything I had for that said date, because "I wanted to get the Black Spindle and the Sleeper Simulant." Which it bothered me that I had that said date to do it, or face the (at the time) possibility that I might not get the chance again for a long time. We're now being timegated for achieving exotics, which wouldn't be such an issue with me if it weren't just limited to a daily mission for one particular day. I used to love Destiny. Played it literally every day. It was actually my favorite game for an entire year. But now with the greatly reduced content which is relevant to play now, I don't really have much of a desire to play it anymore. Now I find myself only logging on once a week on friday for Xur's inventory, but even that's growing thin because the method to receive strange coins was switched from a set mode in the game which guarantees you 9 each week per character, to receiving 4 or 5 each time you rank up with the vanguard or crucible rank or something or another. I'm starting to get really tired of the nonsense and don't like the direction TTK has Destiny going. It was hyped up so much, and I admit I was part of that hype train. It was going to "change the experience", and they were so right. It did change the experience, but not for the better. And dare I even mention that infusion completely wiped out the relevancy of some of our exotics. Like many others, I have 2 exotics now that I use because my Touch of Malice is 310, and my Zhalo Supercell is 306. Basically all of my other exotics which I've gotten in the past 6 weeks since TTK came out is just sitting on the shelf cause infusing them is such a tedious B.S. process, and drops me down to a lower overall light level. I basically need to run the Kings Fall raid a million and a half times just for THE CHANCE to receive a weapon drop that's a higher light level. Which is so frustrating as opposed to pre-TTK where all my exotics were at 365. I too, liked Destiny more pre-TTK. -

Totally. Infusion killed it. Forcing you to use raid gear only is bogus. Using raid gear to infuse other gear to higher levels = using raid gear. Exotics that drop below max are worthless. I'm over it. Edit: to those of you sheep saying infusion is more fun and not at all limiting... How are you enjoying using ALL of the new exotics? I mean you've easily maxed all of them so they can be interchangeable without loosing light levels, right?.. Ohh you haven't? You only have a few exotics you can even use, you say? The fact that these weapons are unusable until maxed and five times more difficult (time consuming) to max makes the game far more limited and narrow. The only place you can freely change weapons is in non-event crucible (irrelevant crucible) and most of them aren't even considered viable options in pvp. Grinding + luck does not = skill. If you tell me to "git gud scrub" I'm preemptively telling you where to shove it.
Big FYI to those who have nothing constructive to say, so you post "well if you hate it so much, just quit and get outta here" - I have quit and I am getting out of here. I just hope that by some miracle, a developer or a community manager will see this and pass along the message along with the number of likes and affirming replies so that it may be tweaked for the better. I'm not the only one hoping for a change here, and for you to try and silence what is swiftly becoming more than half of the user population is just ignorant. I've loved this game and put a LOT into it - More than most, and I hope it gets better i.e. Less grind, more rewarding, etc. I don't enjoy raiding for the sole purpose of getting gear, I want to raid AT MAX LEVEL with the freedom to switch it up and use any weapons and gear I please so that I may get the full experience of the game as it was just a couple months ago. If you can logically refute that, I'll give you a cookie.
Final edit because I'm tired: I appreciate the overwhelming support toward the views I've shared. Those of you in disagreement... I see a clear trend. Anger is that trend. I urge you all to turn the focus to yourselves for a moment. I'm just a random guy on a forum stating an opinion. I have mostly refrained from using directly inflammatory remarks toward any particular group (I know I used the term 'sheep', but if you immediately identify as a 'sheep', you have bugger fish to fry than replying to this post) and yet I still see extreme hostility from those who disagree. Here is your gem... You're not mad at me or those who share my opinion. Why should you be? We're just random people who don't know you and whom you do not know. You're mad at the game you put so much into. So am I. We're on the same team, guy. I don't want to quit because destiny has always sucked. I want to quit because it sucks now. If we yell loud enough, maybe, just maybe, they'll hot fix the suck out of it one patch at a time. And if you're angry just to be angry... See a therapist, cuz ain't nobody got time for that. -

10/26/2015 11:14:17 PM PermalinkI think what they need to do to lessen the frustration is one simple thing. Guarantee a better drop. That's it. none of that 300 ghost shell bullshit if i have a 314 equipped, none of that exact 310 hard ghost shell if i still have my 314 ghost shell equipped, at the very least it needs to be exact to 314 if not 316 or higher -

10/26/2015 7:02:34 PM PermalinkAgree with all of this. I play it cos friends still play it but I'm sick of the direction they're taking it in already. The devs said something before TTK about the "forever 29" complaints in the old days, and that it wasn't what they wanted to do. How is it any different now? It's a lot worse. We still need specific drops, but now we have weapons, ghost shells, class items & an artifact that all contribute to our level, so there's 10 things we need not 4... and now they also drop at eleven different light levels so even if you get the drop you need it's highly unlikely it's gonna be max level. So unless Trials offers guaranteed 320 stuff in all weapon/armor slots (doubt it) there's no way to really work towards max level besides just playing this one raid 3x a week and hope you get insanely lucky. You could do all raids available to you and easily not reach max level by next April. Yet some scrubby kid could get carried through them and get there in a month or so. Surely no one wants it to be like that, and surely Bungie must recognise there's something not right? But let's use available resources to give everyone halloween masks. /whine -

10/26/2015 10:30:34 PM PermalinkI went in to TTK believing that we could become "legend" in our own way. The only way to reach high light levels now is to grind the raid over and over again. I really liked HoW method of leveling with etheric light and PoE armor to reach max level. I personally enjoy strikes and patrol the most. Many nights I do not feel like playing with groups and want to spend time enjoying the game solo/matched fireteams. I have hit 300 light on two of my characters expecting that blue engrams would drop 300+ light gear- none in over two weeks time and I play a lot. TTK has locked many exotics and all the most powerful items from solo players. Many of the best quests require fireteams without providing the matchmaking options for them. I love the game, but currently feel that I am making zero progress without raiding (which is fun to a point). I would like to see ways of reaching the higher light without having to go to an outside source (LFG) to participate in activities. I also have seen many comparing this grind to the VOG raid. While I am sure some of the frustrations are the same, for a solo (mainly) player the gap between raiders and non-raiders has widened. VOG max level was 30, and a solo player could reach 29 and not feel like they were way behind raiders. Now it is 20 points behind (2 former levels?). I am not complaining about having to raid, but having that as the only feasible way of reaching upper light levels is frustrating to those of us who like to enjoy the game alone. TTK light level/infusion also takes much more grinding than the VOG ever did because we now have to grind for two extra pieces of gear, and even when we do get them, they almost always are below max level. TL;DR: Would like to see ways for solo players to reach higher (not necessarily the highest) light levels besides the raid. -

Ok after reading a lot of these posts, I can agree with some points and disagree with more of them. Has everyone forgotten that TTK has been out A MONTH!!! In vanilla destiny I ran the raid every week 3 times until Crota was dropped which was almost 3 months and never hit max level I.e. Forever 29... And I am still here... The game is not broken, I really think that they reverted back to the same grind as back then, I mean in the first month of destiny who had ALL of the exotics ??? NO ONE and NO ONE was complaining. How many times did you run VOG and get double drops Of the SAME weapons that you already had hoping for FB or Mytho??? Everyone here did... Everyone has complained their way to getting spoon fed easy raid gear CROTA... The complained it was too easy and were given HOW where if you played you were given loot every week for completion with some small cooler rewards sprinkled in... Now we have to work for it again and everyone gets pissed off and says "it's too hard", "it's too grindy" ," it's too boring ". Look I know rng Needs work, and the time gated exotics suck, but give the game some time guys, I know the world has turned into " I want it now" just like that greedy spoiled chick from willy wonkas chocolate factory... But calm down, put the work in that it deserves, give it time, and stop complaining when if you do not do these things... You get left behind...any non casuals that are experiencing this I'm sorry but I completed hm and ended up 311 with no primaries, I'm with you I hated the drops I got... But it's not worse than VOG was... Good luck with your decisions guardians I have made mine ... -

I agree in almost everything, except for the exotics. Exotic items should be just that: exotic. Spindle quest was tough, and I personally believe it's worth it. It's been way too easy to get weapons like Tlaloc, Sleeper Simulant, etc. Exotic sword quests, for example, are pretty much straightforward but you need to work and earn your sword. Same for Touch of Malice. Remember Gally in Y1? That thing WAS exotic (at least before Xur brought it). Loot system is crap, though. -

10/26/2015 10:29:13 PM PermalinkDude I agree with you,I love destiny and have played it to death but the loot drops are pure bulls hit. Tonight for example,I topped my pvp team with 18 kills, next guy had 6 next had 3 last 3 had 1 kill each.gives the guy with 6 kills party crasher.it's give me chest piece in raid 3 weeks running.no boots or arms in 4 weeks.they are forcing ppl again to play raid to get high end gear.ppl need options.there should be more than 1 Wat to get the highest gear.I love the game play but I come off some nights contemplating snapping the disc because the drops are utter bullshit.spoils a good game. -

10/26/2015 10:00:26 PM PermalinkMaybe it's time for a break? I get tired of Destiny when I let it consume me (no pun intended :D .) Sometimes when I get tired of the game I go and do something else, like read or play another game. I recently got bored of doing quest after quest on my warlock, so I started my 2 other characters, and it was fun again. The deal with the game is that it gives us a sense of accomplishment. Our brains are hardwired to seek rewards, which is why we get so addicted to these kind of video games. If said rewards can no longer be achieved, or if the amount of work is not worth the reward, we move on. I think a short break would benefit you quite a bit. Variety is the spice of life, after all. -

Destiny stopped dopamine trigger and now I hate it as well. I play it but find myself asking why am I playing. I'm bored.
