The video contains a compilation of footage of the now cancelled Star Wars Battlefront 3 that was scheduled to be released back in 2008. The game was stated by its developers to be around 80% complete, with a beta test expected to take place around one month after the time of its cancellation. The video clearly displays a single player campaign, ground to space battles that transition seamlessly together and the ability to enter and exit vehicles seamlessly (without the need for battle pick-ups)
If it weren't for the disbanding of lucusarts THIS is the game that we could have had, (and likely could be continued to have with new instalments presumably every few years) instead we have a game to be released 7 years later with even less content than a game that was released in 2005.
Battlefront
(2015)
•No space battles
•No single player campaign
•No Galactic Conquest
•A maximum of 20 v 20 (with even less in most other game modes)
•Only the sequel era being playable (as we know of)
Star Wars Battlefront 2
(2005)
•A maximum of 32 v 32
•Space battles
•A single player campaign
•Galactic Conquest
• Sequel and Prequel era maps
Thanks EA, you're going to butcher another franchise.

It takes an entirely separate engine to make it run smoothly in 3-d combat, whereas if they limit it to CAS, then the engine is maintained, because it's a largely 2-d plane. 2) How many people really play a single-player campaign in most of those sorts of games? It's by and large a social game, where the enjoyment is PvP and Co-op, 3) Galactic Conquest mode was somewhat BS, honestly. If they revamped it, I could see it being a loss, but as it was...it was more a pleasant distraction than anything 4) They made the decision to prioritize engine and graphics over players-per-game. You've got much more detail in each sprite, more environmental detail, insane abilities (Luke vs AT-ST), etc, rather than a standard shmup with a bunch of people. 5) Most diehards of Star Wars HATED the prequels. Plus, the Galactic Civil War is much more Iconic to the series. If you ask someone what battles/planets/etc they really remember, it'll probably be Hoth, and Endor, and the like. -

In an actual interview with the developers of the game they had massive bus and glitches in their game, missed nearly all of their deadlines, and lacked a steady stream of funding. Talk about it all you want but at least know what you're talking about. -
